Exciting Changes are Here… and Coming!

FREE PARKING!!! NO ELEVATORS!!!

Have I got your attention yet? I thought so. I know, I know, no one likes change. We hate change, too. BUT… as you know, our old office was looking a bit… how should I say this nicely… shabby chic, minus the chic. So since SOME changes are good, let's get on with the changes that have already happened and some that will soon be, happening.

WELCOME PATIENTS OF DR. ADLER!

We have taken over the practice of Dr. Robert Adler, DDS since he has retired. Village Hillcrest Dental and Dr. Robert Adler, DDS have now been merged into one slightly larger family. We welcome all the patients of Dr. Adler into our fold, and we hope to keep you happy and smiling for many years to come!

TEMP LOCATION

For the time being, while our shiny new office is being built out at 265 W. Washington Street, the location for the newly merged practices will be 920 Washington Street, Dr. Adler's old office. We are no longer seeing patients at Village Hillcrest (501 Washington Street). Our temp location is single story (NO ELEVATORS!) and has FREE PARKING!!!

NEW NAME

Our practice is now called My Sweet Tooth, Dental Office of A.S. Kim DDS, Inc. We could not keep the name Village Hillcrest name (as it belongs to the Village Hillcrest complex), and Dr. Kim has long dreamed of having a practice called My Sweet Tooth, which would both feed… and fix… your sweet tooth (as well as your other teeth!). We plan on giving you sweet treats in the near future!

FUTURE LOCATION

We have suffered months of delays, but we will soon begin construction on a brand new location for My Sweet Tooth: 265 W. Washington Street. It is just down Washington Street between the Hillcrest/Mission Hills Library and Mission Federal Credit Union. It is single story (NO ELEVATORS!) and has FREE PARKING!!! We expect to move into our new digs in a few months in early 2022.

PANDEMIC-PROOF (ALMOST)

The new office will be built to be safe for this – and future – pandemics. It will feature multiple layers of precautions to virtually eliminate the transmission of virus- (and bacteria- and fungus-) laden particles:

  1. Open layout. High ceilings and an open layout with constant air circulation will mimic outdoor spaces where the transmission of germs almost never happens.

  2. HVE. High volume evacuation sucks out the majority of aerosols generated in the mouth as well as aerosols heading toward the mouth, significantly reducing circulating particles that can transmit infections.

  3. MERV-16. During office hours, our state-of-the-art HVAC system will constantly filter the air using MERV-16 filtration to trap up to 96% of virus-sized particles, 98% of airborne dust and 99% of allergens and mold particles.

  4. UV C purification. Our HVAC air handler will have a UVC purifier. UVC has been shown to destroy the outer protein coating of SARS-CoV-1 (which is similar to COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2). At the correct dosages, it can kill 99.9% of SARS-CoV-1.

While we will have state-of-the-art protection against the spread of COVID-19 and other viral, bacterial, and fungal diseases, we still encourage all eligible patients to get vaccinated against COVID-19, influenza, and pneumococcus.

HANG IN THERE!

These are hectic, exciting… and crazy-making times for all of us here at My Sweet Tooth. But we are gonna get through this, together, you and we. And when it's all said and done, you'll LOVE our shiny new office. It will provide a far better patient experience and make you even prouder of – and make you brag to your friends even more about – your dentist office and your dentist… we promise!
